Welcome to Year 5’s page!
Welcome to Class 5! Year 5 are really rising to the challenge of being nearly at the top of the school. Parents, do come and have a look around the lovely classroom displays on a Friday afternoon after school if you’d like to!
We are a hugely talented class. We are extremely sporty, exceptionally creative and widely imaginative!
We have been planning what our creative and helping hands are going to do and achieve this year.
We love our school and are very proud of it. Here are some of the things we like about our school: our topics, maths, art, P.E., computing, science, playtimes, visiting the farm, the teachers, TAs and adults who work at our school, the outside space and playground equipment, our displays, school competitions and House Point challenges.
Listen to what we have to say:
‘…it is fun and challenging.’
‘…all of the people who work at our school are kind, exciting and helpful…the subjects challenge you.’
’…it is fun and we learn new skills.’
‘…the (displays) always draw me in and are so lovely’
‘…the teachers are really nice. The lessons are really fun.’
‘…(in) D.T. you have some really cool projects.’
Year 5 topics:
We have some very exciting topics in Year 5 and here are some of our favourites: Life Cycles, the Ancient Greeks, Sewing, Food and Farming, Moving Toys, Transport, The Highwayman and Space.
Three words to describe our school?
We are determined, kind and fun!
Other words we used: friendly, successful, welcoming, respectful, sporty, creative, happy, warming, outstanding, competitive, involving, cool, enthusiastic, energetic and fair.
As part of our topic on transportation, we visited the S.S. Great Britain.
As part of our transportation topic, we also walked to the canal and were lucky enough to watch a barge going through the lock.
We made some brilliant structures, just like Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
We were the Wise Men/Magi/Kings in this year’s Christmas Nativity.
